July 14-15—35th Annual West River Jacks Golf Tournament, Banquet, Auction and Annual Meeting: The West River Jacks hosted their 35th year of this event that included their annual meeting, banquet and auction on Friday night with their golf tournament held on the following day. August 2016—Mountain climber: James Higgins ’73 poses with his Jackrabbit flag at the summit of Pikes Peak, Colorado, elevation 14,115. The Tulsa, Oklahoma, cardiologist made the 13.5-mile trek to the summit Aug. 5 in preparation for a Sept. 9 climb up Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. That 19,341-foot peak is the tallest in Africa. A month earlier he climbed four Colorado 14’ers in three days.
