1968 Francis G. Whitebird was honored for his service to fellow soldiers and the country at the National Memorial Day Concert on the lawn of the U.S. Capitol. He resides in Saint Francis.
1983 Jane M. McKee Smith was chosen as the recipient of the 2022 International Coastal Engineering Award by the American Society of Civil Engineers. She will be presented the award in Sydney, Australia, in December. McKee Smith was also inducted into the Waterways Experiment Station Gallery of Distinguished Employees by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in July. She resides in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
1993 Jon K. Lauck was awarded the 2021 Frederick Jackson Turner Award for Lifetime Achievement in Midwestern History. He resides in Sioux Falls.
