South Dakota State University was the site for six military veterans to receive a quilt of valor from Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary National President Jean Hamil. The Aug. 31 ceremony was held at the university’s Medal of Honor Park. In addentance, were, from left in front, Brandon Bak, SDSU President Barry Dunn, Hamil, Santana Hanson and Jordan Bogenreif. In back, from left, were Colten Allen, Bill Flippo and Bailey Ross. Allen, Hanson and Ross are SDSU students while Bogenreif is a 2021 graduate and current SDSU employee. Bak started his college career at SDSU and Flippo worked with the university’s U.S. Army ROTC unit.
