The tradition of kangaroo court dates back at least to the 1940s. It was organized by Blue Key honor service fraternity as a lighthearted means of enforcing college Hobo Week traditions, such as not shaving, and wearing pigtails and green beanies. Almost every defendant was found guilty and ordered to perform some zany act, much to the amusement of the crowd that gathered at the Barn.
